MELT Mural Festival
I had the privelege of working hands-on on the branding and design of Charleston’s 1st ever mural festival, as well as doing much of the figurative and literal lift of organizing the actual festival day for Sept. 11 2025. “MELT” was coined partially in reference to the Charleston heat, but as a synonym for integrating and collaborating, much in the same way that paint moves.
We definitely wanted the colors and textures to be fun and visceral, while trying to avoid some obvious tropes of spraypaint or the literal idea of melting. The textures are real paint, and the “M” made of up of three panels is a nod to the walls and canvas space the artists would use, and the transition into a classic serif font symbolizes the integration of public art into the traditions of Charleston.
